Translation: O Allah, honour and have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have honoured and had mercy upon the family of Ibrāhīm, and bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed the family of Ibrāhīm in the worlds. Indeed, You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.
Transliteration: Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad wa ʿalā āli Muḥammad, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīm, wa bārik ʿalā Muḥammad, kamā bārakta ʿalā āli Ibrāhīma fi-l-ʿālamīn, innaka Ḥamīdu-m-Majīd.
Virtue: Abū Masʿūd al-Anṣārī (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) said: We were sitting in the company of Saʿīd b. ʿUbaydah when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us. Bashīr b. Saʿd said: Allah has commanded us to send ṣalāh upon you. O Messenger of Allah! But how should we send salām upon you? He (the narrator) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept quiet (and we were so concerned over his silence) that we wished we had not asked him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said: “Say [the above].” (Muslim 405)
